It’s been a while since our last newsletter — and what a few months it’s been! From new markets and new flavours to our very first birthday, this season has been full of milestones, meze, and moments to be grateful for.
Expanding our Table
This winter and spring saw
spi·ti·kó grow beyond Tokai — we joined the weeky
Constantia Waldorf Market (every Friday) and the monthly
Kirstenhof Community Market, where we’ve met so many wonderful new customers (and seen plenty of familiar faces too).
We even have something big on the horizon — our
first 3-day pop-up in Green Point this November! ✨
🍽 New Additions to the Menu
Our kitchen’s been buzzing with creativity! Here’s what’s joined the spi·ti·kó family recently:
- Dolmades – hand-wrapped vine leaves filled with herby rice & lemon (currently at markets only and for catering, will be added online soon)
- Chicken Wings (Lemon & Herb) – a savoury market hit
- Market Meze Box – our little box of Greek goodness for 1–2 people, a true market favourite that often sells out early (currently only available at markets)
- Bougatsa (Custard Pie) – creamy semolina custard wrapped in crisp phyllo — light, golden (currently only available at markets)
- Baklava Macarons – where French finesse meets Greek indulgence (and yes, they’re gluten-free!) sold in limited quantities at markets.
Introducing: The Paréa Meze Box
You asked, we listened!
After the success of our smaller Market Meze Box, we created something made for sharing in true Greek style — the
Paréa Meze Box. (Paréa means “friends gathering to share food, laughter and life.”)

🎂 We Turned One!
October marked
spi·ti·kó’s first birthday — and also our
21st wedding anniversary!
We celebrated the only way we know how: with food, family, and a little Greek joy.
To mark the occasion, we are running a
birthday giveaway of our brand-new
Paréa Meze Box — inviting our community to like, follow, and tag their friends for a chance to win a feast made for sharing 💙 (there is still time to enter! it ends 03 Nov and the winner announced 4 Nov!).

21–23 November — our first Atlantic Seaboard adventure and our very first 3-day market! 💙
After that, you’ll find us at the
Kirstenhof Business Community Christmas Market on
28 & 29 November, and then at the
South Market from
8–22 December, where we’ll have a display of sweet festive treats 🎄✨
Our products also make
beautiful gifts — from
teacher thank-yous and
corporate hampers to
Christmas tables and gatherings. Whether it’s a box of meze to share or something sweet and homemade to wrap up,
spi·ti·kó adds a touch of warmth and authenticity to every occasion.
